Exciting cricket commentator Onkar Singh recognized

Following the successful hosting of the inaugural Prime Minister’s T20 Softball Cup, the Georgetown Softball Cricket League Inc (GSCL Inc) has recognized the services of international softball commentator Onkar Singh at a simple ceremony held on Tuesday at GNIC SC.

According to a media release for the GSCL Inc., a commemorative plaque was presented to Singh for his long standing commitment to the sport of softball cricket. Singh, a Guyanese by birth who currently resides in New York is the President of the Schenectady Softball Cricket Association in the USA.
In response, Singh expressed gratitude to the GSCL Inc and lauded them on a well-organized Prime Minister’s T20 Softball Cup. He began his commentary career in the Florida Cup in 2000, and attends all softball tournaments around the world and acknowledged that the Prime Minister’s T20 Softball Cup was second to none and it gave him great pleasure to see players and fans alike enjoying the game to the maximum. The 54-year old Singh was born in Campbellville and grew up in Tinin Cup Street, the release further stated.
President of the GSCL Inc Ian John said that Singh’s contribution to the game as a commentator should not go unnoticed and the GSCL Inc is looking forward to his continued support.
John indicated that the Prime Minister’s T20 Cup will be an annual tournament and they will continue to work together for the growth of the sport, with bigger prizes expected in the 2018 edition.
He expressed gratitude the Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo, Minister of Public Security Khemraj Ramjattan, Minister of Social Cohesion with responsibility for Sport Dr. George Norton and sponsors for their input the release ended.
