A father of two who snatch a woman’s cell phone was brought before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Friday.
Dwayne McCalman, 34, of 429 Cane Grove Gardens, East Bank Demerara (EBD), pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
That charge stated that on November 25, at Grove, EBD, he stole one Samsung Galaxy S5 cell phone valued $113,200, property of Trichell Cox.
Bail was not objected to by the Prosecution as the defendant has no previous convictions and noted that this is the first offence of this nature the man has been implicated in.
Bail was granted at $60,000 and he is to return on December 5, 2016.
