Finalists to be decided tonight

The Cliff Anderson Sports Hall will tonight come alive with the semifinal playoffs of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation’s (GABF’s) “Road to Mecca V” National Club Championships.
On Friday evening, the same venue bore witness to Ravens, Victory Valley Royals and Kobras securing wins to take them into the semis and join defending champions Bounty Colts.
Half Mile Bulls defeated Canje Knights 54- 49, but it was not enough to get them a place in the playoffs, while Royals steamrolled their way to the next round with a massive 100-59 thrashing of Eagles.

Bounty Colts have the ‘3-peat’ in their sights

This meant that Colts topped Group One with an unbeaten record thus far, while Ravens came in second, and Kobras finished atop Group Two with Royals as the runner- up.
In the opening game tonight, Ravens take on Kobras from 19:00 hrs, then Colts will battle Royals in the feature to see who moves onto the finals, set for April 28.
This tournament will see the Champion and second place finisher cart off $600,000 and $400,000 respectively, while the victor of the third place showdown will receive $200,000.
Individual prizes totalling $200,000 will be shared among the MVP; the player scoring the most points, and the player with the most rebounds.
