A fire of unknown origin has completely destroyed a two-storey house at Coverden, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

Reports are that a couple who live at the house, along with seven other persons, were involved in a heated argument prior to the incident.
Guyana Times was told that the couple were both drug addicts and would have constant arguments.
The home is owned by an overseas-based Guyanese. Residents called the Guyana Fire Service, but by that time the house was already engulfed by flames.
No one was injured, but the couple have since been taken into Police custody.
