Fisherman charged for attempting to murder fellow fisherman

An Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) fisherman was granted $300,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Mabaruma Magistrate’s Court to answer the charge of attempted murder.

Marks is accused of attempting to murder his fellow fisherman Christoff Bridgemohan.

He made his appearance via Zoom and was not required to plea. He was granted bail to the tune of $300,000 and will make his next court appearance on May 18.

Bridgemohan, a fisherman of Kumaka Waterfront, North West District was on March 22 was seriously wounded by two men who are also fishermen. Bridgemohan received several chops about his body and was rushed to the Mabaruma Hospital where he was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital for treatment.
