Fishermen had first strike and clobbered their way to 220 for 3 off of their 20 overs with Man of the Match, Robert Mohan blasting 116 not out with six fours and 12 sixes. He got useful support from Unis Yusuf with 41 (6×4; 2×6).
The Regal Masters bowlers were roughed up but Parsram “Pacer” Persaud picked up 2 for 47 while David Harper bowled very quickly but finished wicket less but conceded just 15 runs from his four high intensity overs.
In reply, the more fancied Regal Masters lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 130 in 16.1 overs falling short by 90 runs.
The hard hitting, Rudolph Baker top scored with 25 with four sixes but was not given the support at the other end as the required run rate kept climbing with the fall of every wicket. Parsram Persaud came back with the bat to hit 24 (2×4; 1×6) while Pooran Singh was the pick of the Fishermen Masters bowlers with 3 for 39. Ramo Malone supported with 2 for 16.
Just a week earlier, Fishermen beat Regal Masters by 12 runs at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground to win the four-team competition that was also organized by the Georgetown Softball Cricket League Inc after Unis Yusuf lead the way with a fine century and a three-wicket haul.
