The Hilbert Foster-led Berbice Cricket Board (BCB), continuing to break new ground in the Ancient County, is, for the first time in its 79-year history, hosting a double-wicket competition for first division teams.
Twelve pairs drawn from ten clubs started the knockout tournament, which is being played in an effort to bring out the cricketing public and simultaneously renew the passion for the game by all involved.
The winning pairs advancing are Rose Hall Town ‘A’, Blairmont, Albion ‘A,’ Albion ‘B’, and Upper Corentyne; while the game between Tucber Park and Rose Hall Canje is yet to be played, due to rain.
In the matches played, the Blairmont pair of Imran Khan and Kevin Jawahir defeated West Berbice by 22 runs. Blairmont raised 34 in four overs, with Imran Khan contributing 26; then West Berbice crumbled to 12 all out, as Khan and
