Football Coach nabbed with illegal gun, ammo

A local football coach has been arrested by Police after an illegal firearm and matching ammunition were found in his possession.
Reports are that ranks from the Brickdam Police Station were on a mobile patrol in ‘C’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown at about 10:45h on Thursday when the 43-year-old man of ‘B’ Field Sophia was stopped and searched.`

The firearm and ammunition that were found

Police found on his person a .32 Taurus pistol, the serial number of which was filed off, and nine live .32 matching rounds of ammunition in his left side pants waist.
The coach was arrested and taken to the Turkeyen Police Station, where the firearm was processed for latent prints by a rank of the Crime Scene Unit before the firearm and ammunition were marked, sealed, and lodged. The coach remains in custody, pending charges.
