Footballer remanded for armed robbery

Footballer Joseph Osborne, known as ‘Kat,’ appeared before Georgetown Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus on Friday to answer to a robbery-under-arms charge.
The 26-year-old footballer, of Bagotville, West Bank Demerara, is accused of robbing a Brazilian at Port Kaituma, Region One.
Osborne pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleges that on September 22, 2017, at Water Front, Port Kaituma, he robbed Francisco Da Santos of a quantity of gold valued at $3 million; and used personal violence in committing the act.
Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield did not object to Osborne being placed on bail, but this defendant was nonetheless remanded. The case will continue on March 14.
