The post became vacant after Retired Justice Claudette Singh was appointed the Chairperson of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) back in July.
The post was advertised a few months ago where suitable persons had applied.
The Legal Advisor will be tasked with advising the GPF on all matters regarding evidence gathering, the supervision of case preparation for prosecution, and the taking of caution statements for criminal investigations.
She will also give support to the GPF with the training of staff in various areas inclusive of legal, research, and the execution of criminal investigations and prosecutions.
