Home Sports Friendship outplay Soesdyke in secondary school league
Friendship Secondary were once again celebrating on Monday evening after they trounced their opponents Soesdyke Secondary by 38 runs in the 2017/2018 Guyana Cricket Board/Demerara Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited/National Sport Commission/National Secondary School Cricket League (GCB/DMLAS/NSC/NSSCL).
Having won the toss at the GNIC Ground on Woolford Avenue, Friendship Secondary elected to bat first and carefully put together a score of 114. Middle-order batsman Adrian Lim top-scored with 40 runs while his teammate Rondel Kaltow was the only other batsman recording double figures with his score of 12. The Friendship boys only managed to utilise 16.3 of their 30 allotted overs.
On the other side of the match, Soesdyke’s lower-order batsman Noel Henry was the only one to reach double figures scoring 17 runs, as his team struggled to 76 off 14.3 overs. The impressive bowling attack could be attributed for Friendship’s win. Kaltow had excellent returns of 4 for 7 from just 3 overs, while Damion Smith and Johnathan Jagdeo grabbed 3 for 26 and 2 for 20 respectively.
The GCB/DMLAS/NSC/NSSCL tournament continues at the Lusignan Community Center ground with Ann’s Grove coming up against La Bonne Intention (LBI).
