G Division forms several youth groups in Region 2

Several Police youth groups were formed within G Division (Essequibo Islands and Essequibo Coast) to assist law enforcement there in fighting crime.

Groups were also formed at Capoey Amerindian community and Dartmouth

recently, while there are existing youth groups at Anna Regina, Reliance, Maria Lodge, Zorg and Affiance.

Ranks from the Division, led by the Community Relations Officer, Woman Inspector Syndelin Issacs journeyed to the community of Dartmouth, where they encouraged the young people there to give their support towards the successful formation of the community’s youth group, the “Dartmouth Young Developers, which already has 24 members.

Books were also distributed by the visiting ranks, who assured that the Force would host continuous programmes within the Division to actively engage youths.

Recently, Inspector Isaacs along with Chief inspector Clarence Hutson formed the “Young Warriors” group with 27 youths at Capoey. Toshao Melrose Henry expressed her gratitude towards the Division for closing her community and encouraging the youths to become actively involved in the youth groups.
