GABF U23 Championships: Bounty Colts, Ravens remain unbeaten

Bounty Colts and North Ruimveldt Ravens remained unbeaten as the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation’s Under-23 Club Championships, held at the National Gymnasium on Saturday, May 18, 2024; as they continued with a showcase of shooting skills for jubilant supporters.
Colts with their ability to counter to the basket secured their third victory against Meadowbrook Nets despite the Nets starting the game on a high to lead the first quarter with the scoreline reading 16 -10.
The second quarter saw many shots at the basket, with both teams showing their class, which saw at the end of the quarter, the Colts managing to counter on the nets mistakes to overturn the Nets Lead with the scoreline reading 37 – 31. The Colts scored 27 points and Nets Scoring 15 points.
The Colts continued to keep their composure and showed their class, as the Colts managed to show their determination as they held on to their lead, netting 21 points while the Nets scored 16 points with the score line reading 58 -47 after the third.

The Unbeaten Bounty Colts

Bounty Colts went on to secure the win in the final quarter with a scoreline of 75 – 68.
In the second game of the evening, the North Ruimveldt Ravens proved to be a formidable force in the tournament as they defeated the Pepsi Sonics, despite the Sonics’ use of the jump ball to take an early lead (18–13).
In the second quarter of the game, the Ravens, with a bit of experience, conquered the defence of the Sonics as they scored 16 points, pushing their score to 29 points, as the Nets were restricted to 14 points for a total of 32.
In the ensuing struggle of the third quarter, the Ravens pursued a comeback, with the Ravens elevating their total score to 65 points scoring 26 points in the quarter as they restricted the Sonics to 43, who score 11 points.
In the final quarter, the Ravens sealed the deal, breaking through their opponents’ defence with the score line reading 63-49 in their favour.
