Ganja found hidden in garbage heap in Mahdia

Police in Regional Division Eight are investigating the discovery of a quantity of suspected cannabis during an operation conducted at School Street, Mahdia, Region Eight, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
According to Police, the discovery was made between 03:00h and 03:40h as ranks carried out searches in the area. During the exercise, officers found a large black plastic bag among a garbage heap. The bag contained leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis. Further examination revealed two separate transparent plastic bags inside the larger bag, also containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The narcotic was taken to the Mahdia Police Station, where it was weighed and amounted to 120 grams. No arrests have been made, but Police investigations are continuing.
