“Gaza” gunned down in C Field, Sophia

Twenty-seven-year-old Seon Landon commonly referred to as “Gaza” of D’Andrade Street, Newtown Kitty, Georgetown, was on Saturday evening executed in C Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, by two armed men.
According to reports received, Landon and his reputed wife went to visit a friend at C Field Sophia, when his wife left to purchase barbeque while the now dead man was in the company of his friend.
However, soon after she left, two men approached Landon, pulled out handguns from their pants pockets and discharged rounds in his direction.
Landon, after being hit, fell to the ground. His friend reportedly threw himself to the ground and waited until the men left before he got up. He received no injuries.
After the shooting, the two suspects made good their escape.
Police said when Landon’s reputed wife returned shortly after to the scene she, along with public-spirited citizens picked up the injured man and took him to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
He was examined by a doctor on duty and was later pronounced dead.
Guyana Times understands that the now dead man received five gunshot wounds to his head, arm and body. His body is currently at the GPHC Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police reports have revealed that the suspects are a 30-year-old man of D Field Sophia, along with Kevin Mc Adam, 20, of E Field Cummings Park.
The two suspects had reportedly shot Landon back in May 2020, which caused him to be hospitalised at the GPHC. He was later discharged.
Mc Adam was arrested and charged for attempt to commit murder and is presently on bail, but the other suspect was never arrested. That matter is presently pending at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Checks were made to locate the two suspects from Saturday’s shooting but without success unto this time. Investigations are still in progress.
