Matches organised by the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) will continue this weekend with some crucial fixtures.
The GCA launched three competitions for the year 2019: namely, The Gise/Star Party & Trophy Stall Competition, Noble House Seafood’s Second-Division Competition, and the Noble House Next Gen Under-19. Of the three competitions launched, the Noble House Next Gen Under-19 100 overs will commence tomorrow with Zone A and Zone B competing for the chance to top their respective tables. In Zone A, Queens College will kick start the first match-up against GNIC at GNIC Sports Club while Gandhi Youth Organisation will do battle against Transport Sports Club at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC). The final fixture for Zone A will see Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) duke it out with ECO Champs at DCC. Zone B will commence with Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) facing off Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) at MSC. The iconic Everest Cricket Club will then do battle with GCC at Everest. All matches are scheduled to commence at 09:30h sharp.
The New Building Society (NBS) Second Division 40-Over 2018-2019 season will continue on Saturday with one match as Ace Warriors take on Police, who will be looking to bounce back after their loss to GDF. This match will be played at MYO.
The cricketing action will continue on Sunday with five fixtures at various venues across Georgetown. GCC will kick start their morning as they take on the in-form Transport Sports Club at GCC, while DCC will do battle with MYO at DCC as they fight for the top spot. The final two matches will see Sophia attempting to overthrow Police as they look to add consolation points to their standings at Eve Leary, and MSC will be aiming to carry on their winning ways when they face off against the UG Trojans at MYO. The final match will see Everest duking it out with Diplomats SC at Everest. All matches are scheduled to start at 10:30h on both days.
