GCA to host Spin bowling, wicket-keeping clinic

The Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) will be conducting a Youth Spin Bowling and Wicket-keeping clinic for Under-17 players; starting at 9:00h Saturday on the St. Stanislaus College Tarmac, Brickdam.

Former West Indies spinners Roger Harper and Clyde Butts are among the coaches on show during Saturday’s clinic

GCA Clubs are invited to send three spin bowlers and a wicket keeper to the clinic which is facilitated by former Guyana and West Indies players; Roger Harper, Clyde Butts, Garvin Nedd and Mark Harper.

The objective of the program is to help to develop the ability of spinners and wicket keepers and will target areas which include; basic grips, actions, spinning the ball, flight, tactics and accuracy, glove and foot-work standing up/back as well as stumping.

Also, players are required to wear whites or track pants with white tops, socks, sneakers and the personal water bottle. While wicket-keepers are required to bring the abs guard, wicket keeping gear including helmet.
