Friday saw the Guyana Hockey Board (GHB) kick off its U14 Indoor Hockey League after a three-year hiatus.
The tournament, which features matches every Friday until June 23 at various schools, was highly welcomed by hockey juniors keen for much-needed competition after the pandemic.

In the Girls’ division, there were some very familiar faces back in action, with Kaiyra Scott scoring all six goals to guarantee her team SHC Sensations a 6-2 victory over the Cummings Lodge Samurai. Kaiyra Scott has been playing in the U14 tournament since age seven when it first started in 2017. Newcomers Cummings Lodge Samurai defeated Hikers Junior Jets with an exciting goal early in the second half from Letifa Fields. GCC Challengers’ Kadence Belony and Richard Ishmael Top Shelf Titans’ Amya Norville scored a goal apiece to draw their game.
