George, Prashad excel

Joe Jagmohan Golf Tournament…

Peyton George and Patrick Prashad finished with a combined five trophies at conclusion of the Joe Jagmohan Golf Tournament played on Saturday last at the Lusignan Golf Club.

George, who played with a handicap of 18, was crowned the overall winner in the net competition after registering a gross score of 82 (net score of 64). He also won the longest drive trophy.
And Prashad recorded the best gross score of the day while also winning the net battle in his 0-9 flight and copping the closest to the pin award.
This former club captain bested current club president Aleem Hussain in the top-flight battle as, with a handicap of eight, he finished with a net score of 68 while Hussain ended with a net score of 72.
In the second flight, the 10-18 handicappers, former Guyana Open champion Dr Joaan Deo was able to beat Danny Mangra on a countback. Both players had finished with a net score of 66 after registering gross scores of 82 and 84 respectively.
In the highest handicap group (19-36), Carlos Adams, with a handicap of 26, finished with a net score of 67, to better Eureka Giddings who finished with a net 68, after registering a gross score of 96.
