Georgetown brush aside East Bank in 6-wicket win

Led by a collective bowling effort with Ezekiel Wilson being the highlight, Georgetown recorded a six-wicket win against their East Bank counterparts in the opening round of the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) Under-17 Inter-association on Wednesday.

Playing at the Everest Cricket Club, East Bank were bundled out for 67 in 24.4 overs while Georgetown ended victorious on 68-4 in 20.4 overs. Batting first on a sticky wicket, East Bank made only 67 with West Indies U-16 batsman Mavindra Dindyal top-scoring with 26. Zachary Jodah made 13 while Tahddeus Lovell scored 10, the only three batsmen to surpass double digits.

Off-spinner Wilson was the pick of the bowlers with 4-11 in five overs. He was backed up by Alvin Mohabir who claimed 2-0, Inderjeet Nanan who had 2-3 and Yohance Angoy, who took 2-15. In reply, Georgetown lost four wickets but ended victorious on 68 after 20.4 overs. Opener Jadon Campbellle led the batting with 23 while Nanan scored an unbeaten 15. Mohabir (14) and Tatesh Shivrattan ended unbeaten on 12.
