Georgetown reign supreme in DCB U-19 tournament

Georgetown have thrashed East Bank Demerara to claim the 2019 DCB Under-19 Inter- Association Championship title in a match played at the Wales Community Centre Ground on the West Bank of Demerara.
And East Coast Demerara have humbled West Demerara by 6 wickets in one of the matches thereof.
Again taking advantage of a good batting surface, Georgetown amassed 207 all out, with Alphius Bookie top-scoring with 59, while Joel Spooner contributed 50 and Nkosi Beaton 24.
Aaron Beharry and Jamal Michael collected 3 for 21 and 3 for 24 respectively, while Shadrock Baicon took 2 for 24.
In reply, East Bank Demerara, who had won the toss and elected to field, struggled to reach their victory target, and fell short by 162, as they finished on 45 all out off 24 of their allotted 50 overs. Mavindra Dindyal was the lone batsman to score in the double-figures: 15.
Dequan Bamfield was the most destructive bowler, claiming 4 for 20, while Daniel Mootoo and Joel Spooner grabbed 2 for 7 and 2 for zero respectively.
Georgetown won the match by 162 runs.
Meanwhile, over at Lusignan, West Demerara won the toss and decided to bat, scoring 120 all out from 43.5 of their allotted 50 overs.
Tajanath Tadunath scored 21 and Satesh Basdeo 15, while both Saieed Persaud and Josgua Rahaman got 13 each.
Andrew Samaroo was the most instrumental bowler, grabbing 4 for 25. He was well supported by Pradesh Ballkishun and Himnauth Dindyal, who claimed 2 for 15 and 3 for 21 respectively.
In reply, East Coast Demerara blazed their way to victory in just 28.2 overs, with Pradesh Ballkishun hitting a four to close East Coast innings on 124 for 4. Pradesh Ballkishun top scored with 52, while Andrew Samaroo made 33.
Bowling for West Demerara, Daniel Roberts collected 2 for 21, while Dev Seepersaud and Sachin Balgobin each took one wicket.
East Coast Demerara won the match by 6 wickets.
