In the deciding final, played on a wet MSC ground, the GT side’s under-45 delivered the vital blow in the 64th minute to earn a win, after the scores remained 0-0 up to that stage of the game.
It was a goal that came off the boot of Dellon Layne which did the trick from a spot kick outside the 18 yards box. It soared past the Linden Masters over-45 goalkeeper to decide the final.
In the third-place game, the Linden under-45s were able to save face when they scored a 5-4 penalty-kick win over Club 45s over-45 team to break a 1-1 scoreline at the end of full-time play.
For that win, the Club 45 players hogged all the individual prizes on offer, also with their central defender Dwayne Alli coming out as the Most Valuable Player, following his two goals in the previous game and excellent defensive work in the two-match series.
Other awards were: the Most Goals prize, won by Alli; Best Defender: Mark Glasgow, Best Midfield: Kwesi Pryce, Best Goalkeeper: Lance Liedfe, Best Manager: Kurt Davis and Best Supporter: Mr. Dallas.
