Pakistan left arm seamer Sohail Tanveer delivers in an unorthodox fashion, creating problems for right and left handed batsmen. He could provide consistency, pace and immaculate variation at any stage of the game. He is genuine hard worker, who has proven his worth on numerous occasions.
Because of his ability he is demand in most of the T20 leagues around the world, including Australia and England and has so far played for three T20 teams in the CPL. However, his most productive stint came with the Warriors when he was on spot with the ball and provided invaluable knocks with the bat especially in the lower order or when they needed a pinch hitter up front. At 32 Tanveer is not slowing down, he is getting better with every ball he bowls and stroke he plays. The marquee pick last year, Tanveer is eager to suit up for last year’s runner-up where he is looking to better his 2016 performance when he picked up 20 wickets, the second best bowler overall. “Due to my performances in 2016 there are huge expectations from team management, Guyana Amazon Warriors fans and everybody so I am looking to better the already good performances from 2016,” Tanveer said.
When asked what it means to play for the Amazon Warriors, In 2015 when he played for the St. Lucia Zouks he blasted 50 runs from 18 balls against the Barbados Tridents which remains the Pakistani’s fondest memory of the league.
In 2017, fan everywhere can expect many more breath taking performances and are urged to not miss any of the matches. “Last year’s performances were enough to encourage fans to come out. It is amazing to play in three out of four finals and always have the fans behind us. We are thankful for the support and are looking forward to the appreciation again in all of the matches,” the left-arm seamer told Guyana Times Sport.
