GFF grants conditional approval for 12th “Keep Your 5 Alive” tournament

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has granted conditional approval for the 12th edition of the “Keep Your Five Alive” Football Tournament, with matches scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 14, at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).
This year’s tournament will expand its focus on youth development by incorporating school participation, while continuing to stage its women’s championship. The GFF said these additions are expected to strengthen grassroots football and create more opportunities for players across Guyana.
However, the approval is subject to the organisers satisfying all requirements before and throughout the competition. These include submitting the prize money or a sponsor’s letter of commitment, paying the required levy and security deposit, and using GFF-approved match officials.

Five matches are scheduled for the opening night, with Corinthians facing Kitty Hustlers, North Ruimveldt opposing Tiger Bay, Albouystown meeting Young Stars, Sparta taking on Madrid, and Goal Is Money battling East Coast All Stars.
The action will continue on Thursday, July 16, with six matches. Another five encounters are set for Friday, July 17. Herstelling will face Make it Happen, Team Spirit will play Laing Avenue, Festival City will meet Broad Street, Leopold Street will battle Kingston Allstars, and Bent Street A will oppose Unity Ballers.
The GFF extended best wishes to the tournament’s organising committee and said it looks forward to another successful edition that promotes football development and positive community engagement throughout Guyana.
