GFF launches Youth Ensemble Referee Programme at Providence

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has launched its Youth Ensemble Referee Training Programme, with the two-day initiative getting underway on Saturday at the National Training Centre.
The programme brings together aspiring referees from Regions Three and Four, including representatives from the East Demerara Football Association, West Demerara Football Association, Georgetown Football Association and East Bank Football Association. It is designed to build capacity, improve officiating standards and create pathways to regional and international opportunities.

Led by Lenval Peart, Head of Referees and Referee Assessor at the Federation, the training focuses on developing the next generation of match officials to support the growth and integrity of the sport locally. Participants are expected to benefit from technical guidance and practical sessions aimed at strengthening their understanding of the game and decision-making on the field.
The initiative forms part of the Federation s broader effort to elevate refereeing standards across the country, while investing in long-term development within the sport.
The training programme runs from April 18 to April 19, with daily sessions scheduled from 09:00h to 16:00h at the Providence-based facility.
