The Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) will commence their annual softball tournament on Sunday May 28 at various venues across the country.
The tournament will be played in three categories; Male Masters (40 years old and over), Male Open and Female Open with lots of incentives at stake.
The first prize in the Male Masters and Male Open categories is $100,000 plus a trophy while the losing finalists will cart off $50,000 and a trophy each.
The player of the tournament in each category will pocket $5,000 and a trophy while the player of the tournament will also receive $5,000 and a trophy.
The winning female team will receive $50,000 and a trophy while the runner-up team will walk away with $25,000. The player of the final and player of the tournament will each get $5,000 and a trophy.
The grounds that will be used include Demerara Cricket Club (DCC), Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC), Carifesta Sports Complex, Everest Cricket Club and Gandhi Youth Organization (GYO) in the city; the Ogle/Industry Community Centre and Enterprise Cricket Club grounds along the East Coast of Demerara; the Jialing ground in Berbice and the Tuschen ground on the West Coast of Demerara.
