The Guyana Police Force has issued a statement informing that they are investigating the shooting of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) Company Secretary, Jack Foster, on Thursday evening.
Police said that the incident occurred at about 19:00h at Broad Street, Montrose, East Coast Demerara (ECD) when an identifiable man shot at 44-year-old Foster.
According to information, Foster was attacked after he turned onto Broad Street where he noticed that the suspect was standing about 15ft from the corner. The man appeared to be urinating but as Foster drove past him, he turned around and opened fire. The first round shattered the right front door glass of Foster’s vehicle.
As a result, the victim pulled out his licenced firearm and discharged two rounds at the suspect and drove home where he was subsequently escorted to the Woodlands Hospital by his wife and treated by a doctor on duty who extracted the war head and sent him away.
The suspect is still on the run as Police investigations are still ongoing.
