Giddings, Grimmond, Gajnabi among 5 Guyanese women selected

CPL Women’s T10 Challenge…
Five Guyanese women cricketers have attained selection for the 2019 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T10 matches.
Veteran left-arm seamer Erva Giddings, current West Indies Women all-rounders Sheneta Grimmond and Shabika Gajnabi, promising left-arm spinner Kaysia Schultz and fast bowler Cherry-Ann Fraser are the five selected.

The Hero CPL and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, along with Cricket West Indies (CWI), are on board to host two T10 matches ahead of the men’s semi-final and final of the 2019 Hero CPL. The best women cricketers from across the Caribbean will be playing in the NLCB Challenge on October 10 at 15:00h and the Courts Invitational on October 12 at 12:30h.

Kaysia Schultz

Three of the Guyanese selected hail from the most prolific local cricket club, the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club. Grimmond, Giddings and Gajnabi are proud products of this cricket club. Schultz and Fraser hail from Demerara. The two teams will be led by West Indies Women Captain Stafanie Taylor and West Indies Women Vice Captain Afy Fletcher.
