Ahead of Saturday’s mouthwatering clash between Gold is Money and Sparta Boss in the final of the Georgetown Zone Guinness “Greatest of the Streets” tournament, the defending champions Sparta have already said they will go into the final firing on all cylinders.

Gold is Money will be looking to dethrone Sparta Boss when the two sides clash in the final on Saturday

However challengers Gold is Money will be looking to stop the behemoth known as Sparta by sticking to their usual style of play and taking advantage of any defensive lapses that will no doubt occur.
This is the very first occasion that the old time rivals will meet in the Georgetown zone of the Guinness sponsored competition; their only other meeting in the competition was in the National play-offs which Gold is Money won to knock out Sparta in the semi-final stage.
The West Ruimveldt based outfit Gold is Money, have been enjoying their futsal of late showing imperious form since the beginning of the tournament in late November. In the absence of the side’s talismanic captain Hubert Pedro, Randolph Wagner has been especially impressive in leading the line.
Wagner’s goals have all come at critical times for his team and nothing but his best will do in a final that is sure to provide high octane entertainment for the fans.
He (Wagner) has also maintained that he is full of confidence going into the final as he wants to help his side dethrone Sparta Boss.
Meanwhile the supporting cast of Gold is Money has been made up by veteran baller Phillip Rowley and the other able deputies in the form of Michael and Jamal Pedro along with Deon Alfred who are all capable of turning on the heat on any given day to dire effect.
On their way to the final Gold is Money overcame Bent Street in the semi-final 2-1 on penalty kicks after normal and extra time ended with the scores at 1-1.
The final will be played on Saturday at Demerara Park (Opposite Thirst Park) while the third place play-off between Leopold Street and Bent Street will also kick off on the same night. Action begins at 21:00h and the victor will walk away with $500,000, the trophy and an automatic spot in the National Playoff. (Michelangelo Jacobus)
