Colts, Royals book semi-final berth in Road to Mecca IV

The top two teams thus far in the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation’s (GABF) National Club Championship, the Bounty Colts and the Victory Valley Royals have secured semi-final berths after wins.
In their final round robin matchups, defending champions Bounty Colts thrashed Rose Hall Jammers while the Victory Valley Royals secured a comfortable win over Pacesetters.

The Victory Valley Royals and defending Champions, Bounty Colts are the first two teams to book semi-final berths in the “Road to Mecca IV” Championships

Playing in the first game on Wednesday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) the Colts were ruthless and impressive dispatching of the Jammers by 105-52.
Dave Causway was the standout player for the Colts in the paint managing a game high 30 points. He was ably supported by Shelroy Thomas and Shane Webster who racked up 19 and 16 points respectively.
Meanwhile in reply for the Jammers Mickel Lewis and Michael King could only muster 16 and 10 points in a meek response.
In the second and final game of the night the Royals managed a comfortable win over the Pacesetters netting 87 points to the latter’s 75 points.
Top scoring for the victors was Orlan Glasgow who netted 23 points, his teammate Harold Adams was a reliable deputy sinking 21 points while Yannick Tappin pitched in with a valuable 12 points.
The top scorers for the losers were Joslyn Crawford with 14, Randy Richardson had 13 and Stephan Gillis managed 10 points.
With the respective victories, the Colts and the Royals have booked places in the semifinals slated for Saturday, December 23.
The final round robin matches will be contested next Friday at the same venue with Amelia Ward Jets facing Rosehall Jammers while Retrieve Raiders cross paths with the Kobras for the remaining two semi-final spots.
