Held in collaboration with Banks DIH Limited and Trophy Stall, the meet saw top horse Goodwill Boy of the Jagdeo Stables take the feature event for horses classified G and Lower.
After some time’s absence from the race track, Colin Elcock and his Delmur Racing Stables returned to dominate things, as his animals won two events to enable his stables to be crowned champion stable on the day.
Goodwill Boy, ridden by Appadu, took the feature 1400M event and the $400,000 cash prize and trophy compliments of Banks DIH Limited. Miss Olympic ran in second, with Valentina and Settling Star settling for third and fourth respectively.
Miss Olympic, of the Singh Stables, ridden by Brian Blake of Jamaica, then won the 1400M event for H3 maiden horses and those that hadn’t raced for over a year. The win was worth $300,000 and trophy, as Catch A Glimpse and Not This Time were the others that placed.
Perfect Dream won the event for three-year-old Open Guyana-bred animals from Perfect Storm, Justify the Heat and Catholic Boy, as it romped away with the $300,000 and trophy over 1100M.
Perfect Storm then returned to take the ‘K and lower’ race from Perfect Dream, with Fresh Dancer and Prince D following in that order.
The L class Open event saw Fresh Dancer of the Elcock Stables returning to run things as it outshone some royal animals, with Prince D, First Prince and TP 360 failing to cope. The Elcock stable got its second win when the Republican, ridden by Paul Delph, won the event for L class maiden horses from Song Bird, Escape and Osana.
