Seven Seas 40-Mile Cycle Race set for Sunday

All the top cyclists in the ancient county of Berbice will be preparing to battle for supremacy when the Seven Seas 40-Mile Cycle Race pedals off on Sunday, February 16, from Alexander Street in New Amsterdam to Taki Gas Station at Adventure Village Corentyne, before returning for the finish at the point of origin.

Open to Berbice cyclists only, this race, which commences from 9:00h and is organized by Cycling Coach and popular organizer Randolph Roberts, marks the first of such activities for 2020 in Berbice, and Massy Distributions have thrown their support behind it, having made a presentation to Roberts on Tuesday last.
The first five finishers in the Open category would be awarded prizes, as would the first two juveniles and the first three 12-14 riders. The 12-14 riders will traverse from Benjamin Sports to Alexander Street for the finish.
Eight sprint prizes will be up for grabs in the battle of the Berbicians. This race is expected to feature the likes of Balram Narine, Andre ‘Padlock’ Green, Romello Crawford, Ajay Gopilall and Mario Washington, among others.

The Flying Ace Cycling Club (FACC) is expressing deepest sympathy to survivors of the late Jude Bentley, a National Cyclist and friend to the cycling fraternity.
The second race of the year is expected to pedal off on Sunday, February 23, and will be open to cyclists countrywide.
