Gordon, Nedd hit hat-tricks as Beacon crush Black Pearl 8–0

Hat-tricks from Trevor Gordon and Josiah Nedd powered Beacon Football Club (FC) to an emphatic 8–0 victory over Black Pearl FC in the GFF/GFA Youth Ensemble Under-17 tournament on Saturday, September 19.

Decquan Hetsberger and Jaden Thomas added a goal each to complete the rout, while the day’s other results saw Riddim Squad and Vengy FC draw 1–1 and Pele FC receive a walkover against Eastveldt FC.
Gordon gave Beacon an early advantage, scoring in the fifth and seventh minutes before completing his treble in the 28th. Hetsberger extended the lead two minutes later, leaving Black Pearl with a sizeable deficit.
Nedd then took over the scoring, finding the net in the 40th, 49th and 51st minutes to register Beacon’s second hat-trick of the match. Thomas completed the scoring in the 57th minute.
Beacon also made several changes during the contest. J Hardy replaced G Collins in the 35th minute, K Milton came on for A Peters in the 51st, and D Milier replaced D Hardy in the 57th. O Cassius was also listed as a replacement for Nedd. Black Pearl introduced J Huston for N Jones in the 47th minute.
The second match produced a closer contest, with Ravon Nurse’s equaliser earning Vengy a share of the points against Riddim Squad.
Ranny Yam put Riddim Squad ahead in the 15th minute, but Nurse struck in the 43rd to make it 1–1. Neither side added to the score.
Vengy brought on Errol Merslow for Elijah Tappin in the 35th minute. Riddim Squad subsequently replaced Keshawn Henry with Massiah Abrams in the 45th minute and introduced Dequan Lordon for Jashawn Marshall in the 55th.
Both teams received a yellow card. Vengy’s Keil Alonzo was booked in the 47th minute, followed by Riddim Squad’s Kencil Hinds in the 57th.
The scheduled third fixture ended in a walkover for Pele against Eastveldt, with Pele awarded three points and three goals.
