GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS Guyana) Limited is assisting to spread Christmas cheer through a series of donations to non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
The Ruimveldt Children Aid Centre, Association of Uncle Eddie’s Home and Cheshire Home are the recipients of donations of toys, treats, personal care items and janitorial supplies.
On Friday, December 1, GKMS donated toys in support of the Ruimveldt Children Aid Centre’s “Toys and Treat Drive” which is held annually for underprivileged children of the Riversview community.
This year’s event was held on Saturday, December 12, and saw approximately 80 children receiving a toy and goodies.
In addition, on Friday, December 18, the company donated to the Association of Uncle Eddie’s Home and the Cheshire Home. While at the Association of Uncle Eddie’s Home, staff members presented the residents with personal care items and janitorial supplies.
Over at the Cheshire Home, the residents were gifted with personal care items and a treat.
Troy Williams, Country Manager of GKMS stated: “The most recent donations follow three similar initiatives by GKMS earlier in 2020 to soften the impact of COVID-19 on the marginalised and vulnerable members of our communities. In a challenging year, GKMS upheld its responsibility as a good corporate citizen, providing much-needed support to communities where we operate.”
Earlier in the year, GKMS made donations to Diamond Diagnostic Centre, a designated COVID-19 facility, the residents of Bless the Children-Guyana Orphanage and the Association of Uncle Eddie’s Home.
GKMS is committed to ongoing community investment in areas where it can have a positive impact.
