Greene claims top honours at Lineage Classic

Andre Greene of Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycle Club (KARCC) captured the open title at the Lineage Classic cycling event, which was staged on Sunday along the Linden-Moblissa highway circuit.
Greene led the field in the feature race, finishing ahead of KFC Evolution’s Segun Hubbard and Robin Persaud of AC Marriott Carlton Wheelers. KARCC’s Ajani Cutting secured fourth, while Continental Cycle Club’s Paul DeNobrega and KARCC’s Alex Mendez completed the top six.
The event, hosted by Team Velocity, started and finished at the Linden roundabout. Riders travelled across the challenging 19.46-kilometre course, which included the climbs at Bamia and Moblissa hills.

Hubbard complemented his runner-up finish in the open race by winning the Masters 35-and-over category. Persaud placed second, while KARCC’s Kwame Fortune finished third.
In the Masters 50-and-over division, Tallim Shaw of AC/MC CW took first place ahead of Flying Stars’ Ian Jackson and KFC Evolution’s Mark Spencer.
Collin Williams of AC/MC CW won the Category Four contest, with Quincy Punch of We Stand United finishing second and KFC Evolution’s Roy Mangru placing third.
Velocity’s Kevin Stephens emerged as the junior champion, while KARCC’s Tandeia Noel won the female category ahead of Velocity’s Shevian Alder.
The race was contested on a closed course with Police, medical and technical support.
