The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) held a successful day of activities in collaboration with the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) recently at the National Park Rugby field.
A series of games were organised with Under-19 Fifteens squad taking out the Senior National reserves under wet and slippery conditions. The senior reserves prevailed against a vastly improved and hard tackling U-19 Squad 19 – 6
The ladies then took to the field to play a best of three set of sevens rugby with the results being 2 – 1 in favour of team red.
The ladies certainly did not allow wet conditions to deter them from showing the brand of rugby that made them three-time Caribbean champions.
The U/19 men’s team is scheduled to depart Thursday even as they await the result of an appeal for two of their key players who were denied visas.
The ladies have commenced training towards a top two-place finish in this year’s RAN sevens championships billed for November 12 and 13 in Trinidad and Tobago.
