GT man on $350,000 bail for causing death by dangerous driving

A Stevedore Housing Scheme, Georgetown man was on Wednesday released on $350,000 bail after he was charged and appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts for causing death by dangerous driving.
Aaron Mahadeo, 33, denied the charge which stated that on November 21, 2018 at Aubrey Barker Road, Georgetown he drove motor car HC 7451 in a manner dangerous to the public thereby causing the death of Carlise Clementson.
Reports are Clementson was attempting to cross the road when he was struck down. He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was hospitalised. He succumbed to his injuries on December 3, 2018.
In court on Wednesday, Police Prosecutor Bisram Ramjattan objected to bail based on the seriousness and prevalence of the offence. Clementson was released on $350,000 bail on the condition that he report to the East La Penitence Police Station every Friday until the matter is completed. The case will continue on March 5, 2019.
