Banks DIH gives $4.8M to charitable organisations

…gives $2.7M to Children’s Mash Parade 2019

Banks DIH on Wednesday extended its social corporate responsibility when it donated $4.8 million to 27 organisations for charitable purposes.
Speaking at the simple handing over ceremony, Human Resources Director of the beverage company, Andrew Carter, revealed that the donated funds aim at developing the beneficiary organisations holistically. He related to this publication that the annual donation demonstrates the need for sharing so that the finance be used in the interest of the respective beneficiaries.

“This year we are sharing with 27 organisations, varying sums of money which hopefully will be used for the best interest of the people within those respective institutions and for the development of those institutions. We do this as part of giving back to the respective communities in which we operate” he stated.
Some of the organisations benefiting from the donation are the Salvation Army, St Andrews Kirk, The Scout Association of Guyana, Girls Guide’s Association, St George’s Cathedral, orphanages among others.
Representatives from these various organisations were presented with cheques by the human resources director at the company’s headquarters – Thirst Park.
Representative of the Girls Guide’s Association, Berle Jadon in a brief comment related to Guyana Times that the organisation is grateful to be benefiting from the company, since the finance provided helps in training the young women of the Association as well as to sponsor other events.
Meanwhile, the beverage giant also donated $3.7 million to the Education Ministry on Wednesday for the hosting of the Children’s Mashramani Costume and Float Parade 2019.
The company’s Communications Manager, Troy Peters, said the company is delighted to be part of the Mashramani celebrations.
Education Minister Nicolette Henry in brief remarks expressed gratitude to the company for its partnership and sponsorship over the past three years. The Minister noted that her Ministry would have benefited first-hand from the collaboration.
