A woman was relieved of a bag containing $100,000 and other items while at the intersection at Main and Lamaha Streets, Georgetown on Friday. The robbery took place at about 14:00h.
Based on information reaching Guyana Times, the woman had finished a transaction at a commercial bank when a new model Premio motorcar drove up alongside the car in which she was travelling.
One of the occupants of the Premio motorcar exited the vehicle and brandished a gun at the woman during which he ordered her to hand over the bag containing the money.
He reportedly reached into the car and grabbed the bag containing the money, phone and important documents.
The man then re-entered the motorcar, which fled the scene. The Police are investigating the robbery.
