Guyana, Albania sign visa waiver agreement

The Governments of Guyana and Albania on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, service and ordinary passports, at the Embassy of Albania, in Washington, DC.

Ambassador of Guyana to the United States, Dr Riyad Insanally and Ambassador of Albania to the United States, Floreta Faber, signed on behalf of their governments.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry in a statement on Tuesday said that Guyana and Albania established diplomatic relations on May 1, 1985, and it is hoped that the MoU will lead to the enhancement of relations between the two countries. Albania is a country in southern Europe, located in the western part of the Balkan Peninsula on the Strait of Otranto, the southern entrance to the Adriatic Sea.
