The official launch of Guyana’s Independence Carnival is billed for this Saturday evening in the parking lot of Marriott Hotel, Kingston, Georgetown.
The gates will be open from 20:00h, and the event will feature some of the exquisite costumes that will be on the road in May 2018.
At the launch, information will be readily available on how companies and individuals can be a part of the parade as well as the week of events leading up to the grand festival.

Guyana Carnival is expected to mirror those seen in other Caribbean islands, which are known for their energetic and dynamic showcase of culture and entertainment.
Carnival in the Caribbean features revellers in elaborate costumes gyrating through the streets to the sounds of sweet soca music, booming through the speakers of various music systems.
Carnival Guyana 2018, which is themed “Genesis”, will target partyholics in the Diaspora and around the world, providing them with world-class events such as all-inclusive parties, concerts, boat rides, day tours and a grand costume day parade through the streets of Georgetown.
