The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has officially unveiled the fixtures for Team Guyana at the upcoming Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars Under-19 Championship, with the young Jaguars preparing for a demanding schedule against some of the region’s strongest youth teams.
Guyana will begin its campaign on Friday, July 11, when it takes on Trinidad & Tobago in what prom-ises to be a keenly contested opening fixture. The match is scheduled to bowl off at 09:30hrs.
The team’s second outing comes just two days later on Sunday, July 13, against Jamaica, another tra-ditional regional powerhouse, also at 09:30h. Guyana will then face Barbados on Tuesday, July 15, be-fore meeting the Leeward Islands on Friday, July 18.

The preliminary round concludes on Sunday, July 20, when Guyana takes on the Windward Islands, with all matches scheduled to start at 09:30h.
With five matches in just ten days, consistency and resilience will be key as Guyana aims to secure a place among the tournament’s top contenders.
Leading the squad is Captain Parmeshwar Ram, with Romario Ramdeholl serving as vice-captain. The remainder of the squad comprises Shamar Apple, Adrian Hetmyer, Justin Dowlin, Yannick Newton, Dhanesh Persaud, Kush Seegobin, Joshua Budhram, Gilbert Griffith, Feaz Baksh, Micah Amsterdam, Jonathan Mentore, and Darwin Joseph.
The team will be managed by Nazeer Mohamed, with Kumar Bishundial serving as head coach and Antony Adams as assistant coach.
As the countdown to the championship continues, Guyana’s talented youngsters will be looking to make a strong statement when they begin their regional campaign on July 11, carrying the hopes of the nation into one of the Caribbean’s premier youth cricket tournaments.
