Guyana set for beach volleyball spectacle

Guyana is set to become the centre of Caribbean beach volleyball this September when the End Game Beach Volleyball Tournament returns with an expanded and more ambitious edition.
The tournament, organised by the Guyana Beach Volleyball Association (GBVA) in collaboration with the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF), will be elevated into a multi-national showcase and is expected to feature some of the region’s leading beach volleyball players.
The event is being billed as the first Caribbean Championship of its kind to be hosted in Guyana, marking a significant milestone for the local sport and providing Guyanese players with the opportunity to test their skills against international opposition on home soil.
Players from Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Barbados, and the Cayman Islands are expected to travel to Guyana for the competition, with approximately 16 pairs slated to participate.

The September tournament will also mark a major change from last year’s inaugural edition, which featured a male-only pool-play format. This year, the competition will feature both male and female divisions, creating a broader platform for athletes and further strengthening the development of beach volleyball locally.
Organisers have also promised significantly increased prize purses for competitors, while spectators will have opportunities to win interactive giveaways and other prizes throughout the event.
The action will return to the Marriott Beach Front in Georgetown, which is expected to provide the backdrop for what organisers describe as a premium sports-entertainment experience.
Beyond the competition itself, patrons can look forward to barbeque and beverages, interactive fan games, and other entertainment as organisers seek to combine high-level volleyball with a vibrant social atmosphere.
With international competitors, increased prize incentives and the introduction of a female division, the 2026 End Game Beach Volleyball Tournament is shaping up to be a landmark event for Guyana’s growing beach volleyball community.
