Guyana triumphs at Pennsylvania Relay Festival

Six females of the New Campbellville Secondary School, Georgetown who represented Guyana at the Pennsylvania Relay Festival emerged victorious after they were placed to compete in the four by 400 relay event.

The team which consisted of Princess Browne, Binka Joseph, Thenica Thompson and Malika Abrams won from a field of athletes, which included teams from the United States of America, Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago among others.
The girls competed in the Secondary/High school category and according to overseas based Guyanese of the Transparency Envision Non-governmental Organization (NGO), Mark Webster, the athletes performed and represented Guyana and the sport well.
Participation was also given from a team which comprised of the Technical Institutes across Guyana whcih placed third in the same relay event. There was also participation from the Fort Wellington Secondary.
The Pennsylvania relay festival is an annual event that attracts teams from countries across the globe. Many athletes use this platform to catapult their athletics career.
