Guyana U-19s aiming to extend victory run in 4th round

Having opened their 2019 Cricket West Indies Regional Under-19 campaign with a rained out fixture against the Windward Islands and a defeat against Barbados, Guyana registered a 119-run win against Leeward Islands in the latest fixture played in Park Hill, St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Guyana posted 176 all out inside their 50th over, with West Indies U-19 batsman Sachin Singh scoring a solid 51, which was decorated with five fours and two sixes. His West Indies team mate Kevlon Anderson missed out on his half-century, scoring 42, which included three fours.
Number three batsman, the regular opener Junior Sinclair, chipped in with 28, while Ashmead Nedd scored 12.

In reply, Guyana played to an early day, bowling out their opponents for 57 in 27.5 overs. Fast bowler Qumar Torrington grabbed 3-18, while Anderson had an all-round game, returning figures of 3-18, like Torrington. Nedd grabbed 2-6 with his left-arm spin.
Guyana will next meet Jamaica on Sunday August 4, 2019 at Arnos Vale from 9:30 hours. The Ashmead Nedd-led team is in third position with 8.2 points, while Barbados are sitting ahead with 13.8 points, and the Windward Islands have 12.8 points.
The five-round tournament will conclude on August 6, 2019. Five-time defending champions Guyana will sign off against Trinidad and Tobago at the familiar venue in Arnos Vale.
