The discussions also examined opportunities for cooperation between Guyana and the United Kingdom (UK) including the facilitation of training programmes in agricultural technologies through UK-based institutions. Additionally, both sides explored the possibility of organising trade and investment missions that would connect UK investors with local farmers and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector. Mustapha highlighted Guyana’s extensive arable lands and the country’s potential for agricultural expansion. He noted that partnerships between investors with access to capital and local farmers with access to land could help accelerate growth and increase production within the sector.
