Guyanese contingent begins quest for individual glory

2019 Caribbean Mini and Pre Cadet Table Tennis Championships…

Following their bronze medal performances — in which the boys’ 13-years-and-under ‘A’ team of Jonathan Van Lange and Krystian Sahadeo had captured bronze in the Team events, and Jonathan Van Lange and Colin Wong had copped another bronze in the Doubles events — the Guyanese contingent at the 2019 Caribbean Mini and Pre Cadet Table Tennis Championships will be looking for individual glory when the singles aspect of these championships begin.
There were also good quarter-final performances coming from the boys’ 11-years-and-under teams of Ebo Mc Neil and Malachi Moore, and the boys’ Under-13 ‘B’ team of Colin Wong and Dhanesh Persaud.
The Guyanese teams will now be hunting to increase their medal tally when the singles aspect of the championships commences at the gymnasium Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
In the Boys’ 11 Years-and-Under category, Malachi Moore is seeded #2 in Group Five, along with Alexander Perez of the Dominican Republic, who is seeded #1; Jeriel Torres of Puerto Rico, who is seeded #3, and Billion Bruce of T&T, who is seeded #4.
In that same category, Ebo Mc Neil is seeded #3 in Group Three, along with Sebastian Cruz of Puerto Rico, who is seeded #1; Geovanny Cruceta of the Dominican Republic, who is seeded #2; and Cruteca’s countryman Samuel Garcia, who is seeded #4.
In the Girls’ 11-Years-and-Under category, Jasmine Billingy is seeded #2 in Group Four, along with Cecely Polanco of the Dominican Republic, who is seeded #1; Michel Fermin of that same country, who is seeded #3, and Adriana Vargas of Puerto Rico.
Samara Sukhai is seeded #4 in Group 5; along with Yesmelly Guerro of the Dominican Republic, who is seeded #3; Kallyn Cruz of Puerto Rico, who is seeded #2; Ashlea Mohamed of Trinidad and Tobago, who is seeded #3.
Akira Watson is seeded # 4 in Group 2, along with Carolina Sosa of the Dominican Republic, seeded #1; Lyliana Boodhan of Trinidad and Tobago, seeded #2; and Mileizy Brioso, seeded #3.
In the Boys’ 13-Years-and- Under category, Jonathan Van Lange is seeded # 1 in Group 3, along with Rafael Cabrera of the Dominican Republic, and Eliam Davila of Puerto Rico who is seeded #3.
Colin Wong is seeded #1 in Group 7, along with Andelson Acvedo of the Dominican Republic, seeded #2, and Sameer Ali of T&T, seeded #3.
Krystian Sahadeo is seeded #2 in Group 2, along with Giovanni Centeno of Puerto Rico, and Yoel Mendoza of the Dominican Republic, seeded # 3 in the group.
Dhanesh Persaud is seeded #3 in Group One, with number one seed Ramon Vila and Yadier Lopez Puerto Rico, seeded# 2.
