Guyanese Dillon Heyliger in Canada team for T20 World Cup Qualifers
Former Guyana youth player Dillon Heyliger has been included in Canada’s team for the upcoming International Cricket Council 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifiers, to be held in Antigua and Barbuda from November 7–15.
The 14-member squad is as follows: Navneet Dhaliwal (Captain), Dilon Heyliger, Jatinderpal Matharu, Shreyas Movva, Salman Nazar, Rayyankhan Pathan, Cecil Pervez, Sana-Ur-Rehman, Junaid Siddiqui, Kaleem Ravinderpal Singh, Hamza Tariq, Harsh Thaker, Saad Zafar and Aaditya Varadharajan.
The squad will be accompanied by six officials: Carlos Ragoonath – Manager, Amarinder Bhinder – Coach, Khuram Chohan and Daulat Khan – Assistant Coaches,
Ankur Sahrama – Physio
and Dinesh Mahabir – Analyst.
Argentina, Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Panama and the USA are the other seven teams participating in the Antigua- hosted seven-day tournament, which will be played in a round-robin format. The tournament’s top two teams will progress into the two eight-team global qualifiers for the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, to be played in Australia next November.
The 14-member Canadian squad, along with its six accompanying officials, will depart for Antigua today, Sunday October 31, 2021.
