Half Mile Bulls, Pacesetters record latest victories

On the third night of Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation’s National Club Championship “Road to Mecca IV”, the Half Mile Bulls and Pacesetters were the latest victors after contrasting encounters.
In the double header on Wednesday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Half Mile Bulls took on Rose Hall Jammers in game one and promptly walked all over the latter in a lop sided win much to the delight of the sprinkling of spectators.
Michael Turner “turned” on the heat with a game high 31 points and was well supported by Kevon Welch as they helped their side, the Half Mile Bulls to an 81-53 victory over the Jammers.

Plaisance Guardians performed admirably but fell short against Pacesetters on Wednesday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall

Michael King was the only Rose Hall player to touch double figures as he scored 12 points with Mickel Lewis sinking nine while David Hope and Kevon Emmanuel had eight points each.
In game two the Plaisance Guardians gave a good account of themselves but fell short as they lost to the Pacesetters 64-78.
The winners had solid performances from the entire team with Stephan Gillis leading the way with 19 points. Gillis received solid backing from Nathan Saul with 18, Joslyn Crawford and Sherlon Legall with 10 points each.
Trenton Woolford was once again the standout for Plaisance as he racked up 15 points while Akeem Crandon and Calvin Nurse contributed 13 points apiece.
The tournament continues tonight at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall from 19:00h with defending champions Bounty Colts taking on Amelia Ward Jets and Victory Valley Royals battling Retrieve Raiders.
The top 10 clubs in Guyana are battling for over $1M in prizes with the victors set to pocket $600,000 and the championship trophy. The defending champions of the tournament are the Bounty Colts. The tournament will culminate with the grand finale on Christmas Eve (December 24).
