Representatives of the President and the Leader of the Opposition are currently meeting in the Mazaruni Room at the Ministry of the Presidency to continue discussions on the nominations for the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM).
The Government’s side is represented by Director General of the Ministry of the Presidency, Joseph Harmon and Minister of Public Health, Volda Lawrence while the Opposition Leader is being represented by Anil Nandlall and Irfaan Ali.
This meeting follows one, which was held between President David Granger and Leader of the Opposition yesterday. During that meeting, it was agreed that representatives from the two sides will continue meeting today to continue the process. (MoTP)
